Eric Yazell

Meet the director, sound designer (& 'voice of Giant') in Stinky Cheese Man & Other Fair(l)y Stoopid Tales

Eric Yazell retired from teaching theatre in 2020 and has over 30 years of experience in theatre – acting, directing, sound design, assisting with costumes, and designing and building sets. He has directed over 70 plays and musicals and has served on the Board for Camp Blue Sky, a summer arts camp program for elementary and middle school students. He is also the Artistic Director and President of the Board of Cyclopedic Ensemble.

Eric is married and has two children and two stepchildren. He is a die-hard Kansas City Chief’s fan since 1979.

Joshua Barner

In SCM (that's Stinky Cheese Man...) Adriana Randall is "Little Red Hen", and "Old Lady".

"I'm Adriana Randall. I am happy to say I am a graduate of SFCC and UCM with a Bachelor's in Theatre Performance, and a full time Children's Theatre lover! It has been a few years since I have performed, but I am ready to get back on stage to tell some really fun stories!"

Holden Childress

In SCM (that's Stinky Cheese Man...) Holden Childress plays "Stepmother", "Old Man" & "Farmhand". Holden (He/Him/His) is currently a musical theatre major at the University of Central Missouri. Previous roles include Bruce Bechdel in “Fun Home”, Michael Mell in “Be More Chill”, Santa Claus in “Elf the Musical” and The Owner in the university premiere of Kristiana Rae Colón’s “Tilikum”. This is his first time participating in KC Fringe, as well as his first profession#stinkycheeseman.

Tommy Waller

Tommy Waller plays "THE Stinky Cheese Man," "Ugly Stepsister" and "Frog."

Tommy is a performer who has worked as an actor and improviser throughout Kansas City. Tommy has been seen locally, acting at the Coterie Theater and the MET, and for Relevance and THUD Productions. Regionally he has performed at the Lyceum Theater in Arrowrock. He has also worked teaching and improvising at Comedy City, The KC improv Co, and the Groundhog Day Theater. He would like to thank his fiance, Shannon for her continuous support and encouragement to do what he loves.

Quincy is a Welding major at State Fair Community College. A few of Quincy’s previous shows include: SFCC’s SpongeBob the Musical (Mr. Krabbs), SFCC’s Leveling Up (Chuck), SFCC’s Puffs (Wayne Hopkins), SFCC’s First Date (Gabe), SFCC’s Oedipus (King Laius), and SFCC’s Dearly Departed (Reverend Hooker). Jenna is a Theatre Arts major at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a concentration in Musical Theatre. A few of Jenna’s previous credits include: UW-Parkside’s Indecent (The Ingenue U/S), Summit Theatre Group’s Mamma Mia! (Ali), SFCC’s First Date (Lauren), James and the Giant Peach (Aunt Spiker), and Coffeyville Community College’s regional premier of The Humans (Brigid). She has also recently obtained her Level One Unarmed Stage Combat with Distinction certificate from Dueling Arts International. Trenton has performed live since he was a young shepherd at Stover United Methodist Church. After excelling at humorous interpretation, improvisation, and storytelling Trenton studied Theatre at State Fair Community College. Winter 2015 Trenton obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg emphasizing Theater Minor Digital Media Production. He has performed as Marty in "U:BUG:ME!", Gary/Roger in "Noise Off!", and Spot the Pig in "The Tale of Pigling Bland".

Kristen Henning (she/her) has over 20 years of experience in theatre. Believing there is always more to learn, she enjoys researching and working in all aspects of the craft she can. She has a particular penchant for directing, contemporary musical theatre, theatre literature, dramaturgy, puppetry, and ethical practices in consent-based theatre intimacy. Kristen maintains the ardent belief that not only is theatre for everybody, it is the key connecting us to our local communities as well as our global humanity.

Chris Opatrny-Yazell

This is Chris' first show as a costume designer. Her favorite costumes are LIttle Red Hen & Jack's shoes. Previously she designed the wings for the dragon in She Kills Monsters & helped with armor, props, etc. She also designed the brains & intestines in Night of the Living Dead Live.

Jack (of the beanstalk)

Jack - of the beanstalk Jack, and the Giant. While we borrowed the costume, Chris had a LOT of fun making the shoes. Sadly, she sewed them to jazz shoes and Jack wore the bottoms out during one rehearsal. So, soon the tops will be sewn onto more rugged converse (well, Chris is new to costuming :)

The set drawings (projections)

To quote Little Red Hen (LRH) “Oh my goodness”. Adriana Randall (who also plays LRH) drew a couple dozen pictures which will be used as our set via projection. This video shows only a few of the drawings, some of which were not complete with color when we posted this video. Adriana’s artistic talent is beyond amazing. And the projections alone would be reason enough to see SCM. Fortunately, our actors’ talent is also beyond amazing. Oh my goodness, this is a great show for young and old!!
